Provide support to patients by offering financial aid, counseling, and helping them navigate the healthcare system, as well as referring them to community resources.

    Breast Cancer Patient Navigation We have trained 21 patient navigators, 20 nurses and 1 survivor and positioned them in 15 hospitals across Ghana. These supporters assist patients to navigate the complex healthcare system, helping to streamline the process, reduce barriers to care, and improve patient outcomes.

    Patient navigators may perform a range of tasks, including:

    Appointment Scheduling: They help patients schedule appointments with healthcare providers, specialists, and diagnostic tests.
    Understanding Medical Information:Patient navigators explain medical terminology, test results, and treatment options in a way that patients can comprehend.
    Coordinating Care: They ensure that all aspects of a patient's care are well-coordinated among different healthcare providers and institutions.
    Accessing Resources: The Navigators help patients access resources like financial assistance, transportation to appointments, and support groups.
    Advocacy: Our Patient navigators act as advocates for patients, ensuring that their rights and needs are respected within the healthcare system.
    Emotional Support:They provide emotional support to patients, their families and support systems.
    Cultural Sensitivity:They consider cultural and linguistic factors when assisting patients, ensuring that care is culturally sensitive and appropriate and help to dispel the myths associated with breast cancer diagnosis the contribute to the poor outcomes.
