Strategic Objective IIIAdvocacy

Advocate for policies and legislation that prioritize breast cancer prevention, treatment and survivorship. Embrace achieves this through strategic partnerships with national and international organizations with shared objectives. We also collaborate with research institutions and healthcare providers to support Breast Cancer research and Clinical trials. We are adopting innovative technologies, aiming to advance prevention, treatment, and survivorship outcomes

We Advocate for equitable access to healthcare personnel and resources through various partnerships with policymakers, healthcare and corporate institutions and inidividuals. Our goal is to increase the financial, educational and rehabilitative resources available to women who are affected by Breast Cancer (as well as other women cancers by 2025). We will accomplish this through partnership with Ghana’s Health Systems (the Ghana Health Service & Ministry of Health) to increase training of relevant health professionals in breast screening and education.

We will also collaborate with local and international bodies whose values align with ours to advocate for more resources towards the management of breast cancers on Ghana.

We also participate in Research to advance the care of Breast Cancer in Ghana, and by extension, Africa.

We are passionate about healthcare equity for several reasons :

Social Justice and Human Rights: Equitable access to healthcare is a fundamental human right. It ensures that every individual, regardless of their background, income, or geographic location, has the opportunity to receive quality healthcare services. This aligns with principles of social justice, where fairness and equality are valued.
Improved Health Outcomes: When healthcare resources and personnel are distributed equitably, it leads to better health outcomes for the entire population. It reduces health disparities and ensures that people with diverse needs and conditions receive the care they require.
Reducing Health Disparities: Health disparities, which are often rooted in socioeconomic factors, can lead to unequal health outcomes among different groups. Advocating for equity helps reduce these disparities, addressing issues like higher morbidity and mortality rates among marginalized communities.
Economic Benefits: Equitable access to healthcare can have positive economic impacts. When people have access to timely and effective healthcare, they can remain productive members of society. Preventative care and early interventions can also reduce the overall cost of healthcare by avoiding more expensive treatments down the line.
Public Health Preparedness: Ensuring equitable access to healthcare resources strengthens a country's public health preparedness. In times of pandemics or health crises, a robust and accessible healthcare system can respond more effectively, protecting the entire population.
Social Cohesion: An equitable healthcare system fosters social cohesion by promoting a sense of fairness and shared responsibility. It can lead to greater trust in healthcare institutions and government, as people perceive that their well-being is a collective priority.
Long-term Sustainability: Equity in healthcare is essential for the long-term sustainability of the healthcare system. When resources are allocated fairly, it prevents overburdening certain facilities or regions and helps maintain the quality of care provided.
Global Health Diplomacy: On a global scale, advocating for equitable access to healthcare resources and personnel is essential for international cooperation and diplomacy. It contributes to addressing global health challenges and strengthening international partnerships.
Ethical and Moral Responsibility: As a society, there is an ethical and moral responsibility to ensure that all individuals, regardless of their circumstances, have access to healthcare. Advocacy for equity reflects a commitment to the well-being and dignity of every person.
Preventing Avoidable Suffering: Lack of access to healthcare personnel and resources can result in avoidable suffering and premature deaths. Advocacy for equity strives to prevent such suffering and ensure that individuals receive the care they need when they need it.
